Cold Mountain Software is located in Boulder, Colorado, USA.

I have been in the business of developing software for over twenty five years. During that time I've started or have been closely involved in starting quite a few software companies. Some were very successful, some not so. I've worked in large product companies and small consultancies. Throughout my career, I've always gotten the most satisfaction out of helping others to achieve their goals, especially when I can provide something of myself that uniquely helps to solve their problems.

The ideas for the software being developed by Cold Mountain Software occured to me about eight years ago. The ideas have developed and matured slowly as the industry and available technology have progressed to make their implementation possible. In the past two years, I've finally taken the opportunity to follow my dream and begin bringing these ideas to life.

I hope that through this software I can extend my reach to help more people than I can personally touch, especially those who think like I do.

The name Cold Mountain (Han-shan Ch or Kanzan Jp) comes from a hermit who lived in the mountains of China sometime during the T'ang dynasty. Supposedly he would come down from the mountains and scrawl grafitti on whatever surface was available. The poems have lasted over a thousand years. I've always liked the translations of his poems by Gary Snyder the best.

In the mountains it's cold.
Always been cold, not just this year.
Jagged scarps forever snowed in
Woods in the dark ravines spitting mist.
Grass is still sprouting at the end of June,
Leaves begin to fall in early August.
And here am I, high on mountains,
Peering and peering, but I can't even see the sky.
