EccoHelpers is
a collection of add-on features for Ecco-Pro that make improvements
to the way Ecco works. Ecco Helpers are now free if you register
and get an activation key.
We have used these
tools to improve the way Ecco works for our project management
process and for some of our personal information management
tasks. We think that many of these helpers will be useful
for the loyal Ecco users out there, and have decided to release
them as a product.
Some of the helpers
have been in-use for years as little VB scripts that were
continually being modified for particular tasks. They have
been re-implemented on the .NET based framework for the BeginnersMind
knowledge management tools. Ultimately one of the BeginnersMind
tools will have many of the unique capabilities of Ecco. Some
of the interface elements for that tool are already integrated
with EccoHelpers.
The features that
are currently enabled in the EccoHelpers product represent
a selection that we thought would have the most value. Depending
on the level of interest, we may be releasing an "Advanced"
version in the future.

Some of these tools
have been very useful in implementing a personal productivity
system similar to David Allen's "Getting Things Done"
methodology.
